NB. When comparing prices please note that all coolants listed here are Concentrates and can therefore be diluted to suit your requirements. Many other brands on offer at Supermarkets and Motor Factors have already been diluted with water!
Modern engine coolants are more than just antifreeze. RAVENOL Coolants contain a cooling and antifreeze agent based on mono ethylene glycol (MEG), plus a special additive package which is added to guarantee a year-round faultless functioning of your engine.
For coolants there are no general standard specifications such as API or ACEA for motor oils. But you can rely on RAVENOL Coolants to provide protection against freezing, overheating and corrosion for both your radiator and your engine’s cooling systems. RAVENOL Coolants are suitable for use in both petrol and diesel engines, have good compatibility with elastomers, excellent heat transfer properties and contain no environmentally damaging nitrites, amines or phosphates. RAVENOL Coolants do not have any negative influence on rubber seals.
Please be aware RAVENOL Coolants (like other concentrates) need to be mixed with distilled or deionised water. Mixing with ordinary tap water may cause metal corrosion. To ensure good corrosion protection we recommended using at least 33% RAVENOL Coolant in the solution. This will provide frost protection down to -20°C. However in the far north of Scotland you may wish to try 50% coolant to water, offering frost protection down to -36°C.
RAVENOL ETC Concentrate Protect C12evo is an eco-friendly coolant free from 2-ethylhexanoic acid. It is a borate, nitrite and phosphate-free coolant for cooling circuits in combustion engines based on 1,2- ethanediol (monoethylene glycol), which provides maintenance-free corrosion and frost protection. This product is formulated as long-term radiator protection based on the latest Si-OAT technology. Organic acids work together with mineral silicates to provide the best possible protection.
